Thomas Edward works with individuals and at scale, on both residential and commercial projects, to craft and restore every size, shape and style of soft furnishing.

We have extensive experience restoring antique and designer pieces alike, with several thousand designer and performance fabrics in our catalogue. Additionally, we capably work across styles—from Queen Anne settees to mid-century sectionals. As with our restoration work, all original pieces—including cushions, pillows and window treatments—are fully custom and crafted in-house.

We believe that quality work begins in context, so we come to you. Every project leads off with an in-home consultation at no additional cost.

We supply fabric by Stroheim, Fabricut, Trend, Norbar, United, Charlotte, 29 Park, Barrow, Jab, Shumacher, Roden Leather, Crest Leather, East Coast Fabrics, Fabric Tent, Pierre Frey, and Kvadrat.

Our performance and designer fabrics are also available by the yard for standalone purchase.

Shuren is established in Lawrenceville, NJ as a drapery company

1961

Shuren merges with another local business, Cullen Upholstery, to form Shuren Drapery and Upholstery

1990

Thomas Edward joins the team as the business expands

2020

Shuren and Cullen retire, and henceforth ‘Shuren Drapery and Upholstery’ is renamed ‘Thomas Edward Drapery and Upholstery’ under the stewardship of Thomas Edward
